Douglas C-47

In 1940, the USAAF placed a large order for DC-3s, and designated them C-47 Skytrains. By the end of WWII, a total of 10,692 DC-3/C-47 aircraft were built, the Soviets built 2,000 Li-2s, and the Japanese built 485 Showa L2Ds, for a total of about 13,177.
