Boeing X-32A
The X-32A was Boeing's conventional takeoff and
landing entry for the Joint Strike Fighter program's concept demonstration
phase. The X-32A trials ended on February 3, 2001, after more than
60 sorties and 50 hours in flight.

The Boeing X-32 lost to the Lockheed Martin X-35. This gaping
mouthed X-32 design earned the aircraft the alternate nickname
"Monica."
