of joining an IAI Nesher with a GE J-79 engine. It was a multi-role
fighter armed with two Rafael DEFA 553 30mm cannons and nine hardpoints
that could carry Magic AIM-9, Shafrir, or Python AAMs; bombs; and
rockets.
The Kfir C2 variant first flight July 20, 1976 and had large fixed
canard foreplanes mounted on the air intakes, nose strikes, and
a clogtooth leading edge wing.
