Israel leased 25 C1 Kfirs to the United States as adversary
aircraft from 1985 to 1988. The U.S. Navy received 12 Kfirs (The Challenger
Squadron) and the USMC received 13 (Snipers Squadron). They were designated
F-21As.
The F-21As were returned to Israel when the lease expired.
