Two French made SA.342L Gazelles were assembled from
parts recovered from a number of captured Syrian wrecks in 1982 and used
for technical evaluation. This Gazelle was later used by 125 sqn for liaison
work and airshow demonstrations. It is now retired here at the IAF Museum.
Gazelles were used for ground attack and were normally armed with rocket
pods and gun or cannon pods. The Syrians equipped them with AS.12 antitank
guided missiles (ATGMs) and HOT ATGMs.
