Ranger L-440 Engine

The Ranger L-440 was a six-cylinder, inverted inline piston engine. Made by the Ranger Engine Division of Fairchild Aircraft, the L-440 was first used by the U.S. Army in 1940 and powered the Fairchild PT-19/23/26 Cornell series of trainers. It was built in several versions ranging from 175 to 200 hp.
