Canadair F-86E
MK.5 Sabre
This is actually a Canadair F-86 MK.5 Sabre. Canadair
received a contract to produce F-86s in 1948. With the Korean War
they got a production order of 100 aircraft. Because of the war,
Canadair had difficulties obtaining parts and equipment from the
USA, so all parts and equipment were procured from Canadian suppliers.

This F-86 Sabre (N86FS) was owned and operated by Wyatt Fuller. He
was killed while taking off from Hickory Regional Airport on Monday,
July 24, 2006, enroute to AirVenture 2006. The aircraft never lifted
from the runway, and ran off the end, crashing and catching fire.
