This Douglas C-47B was restored by the Great Lakes
Wing of the CAF to the colors of "the Black Sparrow."
The original Black Sparrow was the lead ship of the 302nd
Squadron, Troop Carrier Command, 9th USAAF during the D-Day Invasion
of Europe on 6 June 1944.
This C-47B served as the jump aircraft for the 82nd Airborne Division's
All American jumpers, who carried the Canadian and U.S. flags during
the 2006 opening ceremonies.
