Corsair
The F4U-1D/FG-1D had added hard points for two
1,000 pound bombs and up to eight 5 inch rockets under the wings,
in addition to six .50 caliber machine guns. This increased the
Corsair’s offensive punch over earlier models and improved
its capabilities in the ground attack role.
