Henschel Hs 293 A-1
Air-to-surface Missile

The Hs 293 was a German air-launched missile for use against ships or ground targets. It was was controlled by the bombardier, who operated a joy stick in the aircraft to send radio commands to the missile. Beginning in mid-1943, Hs 293s sank a number of Allied ships, mostly in the Mediterranean.
