Rotary Wing Research Aircraft
This modified UH-1 was used by the United States
Army Aviation Materiel Laboratories in a research program to extend
the performance boundaries of rotary wing aircraft. The initial
version demonstrated design changes that reduced drag by 50% over
the standard
UH-1.
