Seafire Mk.47
This is the only contra-prop Spitfire in the world. It was donated to the museum by the King of Thailand in 1962. Several planes were fitted with contra-props late in WWII in an attempt to counter the high torque produced by the Griffon engine. There was little advantage to the modification and it was not pursued.
