Gloster Meteor Mk.IV

The Meteor was the first jet fighter in RAF service during WWII. The prototype Meteor Mk.I first flew 1943. The Meteor Mk.IV had a the Rolls Royce Dervent 5 engine in long-chord nacelles. On 7 November 1945 the prototype for the Mk.IV set a world speed record of 606 mph (975 km/h).
