Skyrocket

The Skyrocket's first flight was at Muroc on 4 February 1948. On 20 November 1953, Scott Crossfield reached Mach 2.005 when he pushed the plane into a shallow dive. On December 12, 1953, Chuck Yeager reached Mach 2.44 in level flight in the Bell X-1A.
