Convair F-102A
Delta Dagger
The F-102 first flew on 24 October 1953 and was operational
in 1956. It was the world's first supersonic, all-weather jet interceptor
and the U.S. Air Force's first operational delta-wing aircraft. Its one
Pratt & Whitney J57 engine gave it a cruising speed of 600 mph and
maximum speed of 810 mph.
