Champaign Aviation Museum

The Champaign Aviation Museum is located in Urbana, Ohio. The museum is known primarily for its ongoing restoration of a B-17G Flying Fortress Champaign Lady to flying condition. The museum purchased the wreckage of a JB-17G - a Boeing B-17G-110-VE that was converted to an engine testbed, model 299Z. The aircraft arrived at Grimes Field in November 2005, and volunteers started restoration work at the south end of the airport. In 2010, work moved to a purpose built hangar where work continues, using parts from various airframes and new fabrication.
