This Skymaster is owned by the Berlin Airlift Historical
Foundation. Named the Spirit of Freedom, S/N 27370 was delivered
to the Army Air Corps in March of 1945 as 44-9144. She was then
transferred to the Navy on 30 May 1945 and took the designation
R-5D-4.
The Berlin Airlift Historical Foundation purchased this C-54E on
22 December 1992. This restored aircraft carries a flying museum
and memorial dedicated to the Berlin Airlift.
