This aircraft is assigned to the 442 Transport
and Rescue Squadron based at CFB Comox, British Columbia. Here it
is carrying members of the Canadian Forces Parachute Team, the Skyhawks,
in preparation for the airshow's opening ceremonies.
The CC-115 is the military version of the deHavilland Canada DHC-5
Buffalo, which first flew on 9 April 1964. The Canadian Forces Buffalo
is used primarily for Search and Rescue (SAR) operations.
