St. Gellért
Monument
This monument is dedicated to Bishop Gellért, who was martyred in the 11th century. It sits next to the Elizabeth Bridge on the site where legend says he was pushed into the Danube while sealed in a barrel. There is a natural spring rising on this site that forms into a waterfall just below the statue.
