The Holy Crown of Hungary is the most recognized
medieval object in Hungary. King Saint Stephen received a crown
from Pope Sylvester II in the year 1000. The crown pictured here
is also known as the Crown of Saint Stephen and dates from later
in the 11th century.
The object to the left of the crown is the Coronation orb, a fourteenth-century
replacement of the original orb. The object on the right is the
11th century Coronation Scepter. It includes a 10th century rock
crystal.
