1956 Revolution Martyrs Memorial
For two weeks, the Hungarians fought Soviet troops with
any weapon they could find. On 4 November 1956, a quarter million Soviet
troops, supported by hundreds of tanks, drove into Budapest and suppressed
the revolution. Hundreds of Hungarian leaders were identified and hanged.

This memorial is a symbolic grave. On this spot several hundred people
were shot by a firing squad in October of 1956.
