Statue of Vörösmarty

Mihály Vörösmarty was a Hungarian poet born at Puszta-Nyek in December of 1800. He became a national hero with his patriotic writings in the 19th century. He is best known outside of Hungary for his patriotic lyrics, such as The Call (1837).
