Monastery of Mary
Ark of the Covenant
The statue of Mary stands atop a tower that is a part
of the building. The monastery is now the site of the Abu Gosh Music Festival,
held twice a year, in spring and autumn.
The festival features vocal music from the Baroque and Renaissance periods
and is performed by Israeli soloists, choirs and orchestras.
