Syrian T-34 TankIsrael took the Golan Heights during the Six Day War, stopping years of shelling by Syria of the Israeli civilians below. This Soviet made tank was produced during WWII and transferred to Syria before the Six Day War (1967). It was left here as a kind of war memorial. Those are Crusader ruins on the mountain in the background. |
