Western Wall
The second Temple was built by Herod the Great in 20
BCE and completely destroyed by the Roman legions in 70 CE. The lower
part of the Temple Mount walls were preserved. The Western Wall, inside
today's Old City of Jerusalem, is the most accessible of the four walls.
It is also the longest, at 485 m.
