French Renault R-35 tanks were used by the Syrian army.
Two were captured during a Syrian attack on the southern shore of the
Sea of Galilee (Lake Kinnerit) on 21 May 1948.
The R-35 became France's standard infantry tank in April of 1935. During
WWII, large numbers were captured by the Germans who removed the turrets
removed used them for artillery tractors and ammunition carriers.
