M60A1 Blazer
Magach 6
The M60A1/Magach 6 (Merkavot Giborei Hamilchama
- Chariots of the War Heroes) entered service in the 1970s and became
the mainstay of the Israeli Armored Corps. The Magach 6 upgrade
for the M60, M60A1 and M60A3 integrates Blazer reactive armor, a
thermal sleeved 105mm gun, and other improvements.

Explosive reactive armor detonates when hit by an enemy antitank round
destroying, or at least deflecting the incoming projectile, which
would otherwise penetrate the tank's armor. |
