Tank Destroyer
The Achilles was a British modification of the
U.S. M10 GMC tank destroyer, which was based on the Sherman. The
British upgunned the original 3 inch gun with a 17 pdr antitank
gun. IDF procurement agents found tanks like this in the surplus
lots after WWII.

The Achilles was powered by a GM 6046 12 cylinder, twin diesel inline
engine; had a crew of five; and weighed 32 tons. |
