The AMX VCI is a 1960s vintage French armored personnel
carrier. The vehicle's hull is structurally identical to the AMX-13 light
tank and the Mk F3 155mm self-propelled howitzer. The main entrance to
the passenger compartment is a large drop ramp in the rear of the vehicle.
It could carry 10 infantrymen.
IDF armored forces captured two of these French-built infantry combat
vehicles during Operation Peace for Galilee (1982). They were apparently
abandoned by the Lebanese Army.
