The Lee tank was produced in large numbers during the
early part of WWII. Its main armament was a 75mm gun which was mounted
in the right-hand sponson. This was done because the U.S. had no experience
designing turrets capable of holding a 75mm gun.
The Lee's 75mm main gun, located in the hull, had limited traverse.
