Hippodrome
The Hippodrome once stood at the center of Constantinople and was built by Roman Emperor Septimius Sererus in 200 CE. It was vastly enlarged by Constantine the Great. It was the center of life in Constantinople for over 1,000 years and of Ottoman life in Istanbul for over 400 years.
