Sir John Dill

While Arlington National Cemetery is essentially an American burial ground, there are foreign nationals buried here. Congress decreed Sir John Dill could be buried here because he was the senior British member of the Allied Combined Chiefs of Staff during WWII. He died in Washington on 4 November 1944.
