Granite Pillars

Fifty-six granite pillars, each adorned with two bronze wreaths, form the a semi-circle on either side of the Freedom Wall and encircle a sunken plaza and the Rainbow Pool. They represent the 48 states in the union at the time, the seven U.S. territories, including Alaska and Hawaii, and the District of Columbia.

World War II Memorial
The Atlantic Theater fountain's base includes the names: North Africa, Southern Europe, Western Europe and Central Europe.
