Little Joe #802
This locomotive was built by General Electric in
Erie, Pennsylvania for Stain's Soviet Union in 1947. The U.S. Government
barred its shipment to the Soviet Union, saying it was "critical
war material." I got this photo in 1995, while it sat in a
Conrail rail yard waiting on repairs to its air brake lines. It
was bound for a museum in Pennsylvania.

Little Joe worked for 40 years hauling coal and freight on the electrified
rails of the Chicago South Shore and South Bend Railroad before
retiring, in 1987, to a rail museum in Baltimore, Maryland.
