Sheaf Toss

The sheaf is a 16 or 20 pound burlap bag stuffed with chopped rope, straw, or mulch. The sheaf is tossed over a cross bar with a pitch fork. Throwers are allowed three attempts at each height. If the thrower misses all three tries at one height, he is out of the competition. The bar in this picture is at 35 feet, and the sheaf did make it over the bar.
