The Rapide was Israel's only twin engined aircraft at
the start of the War of Independence. This one is an ex-Arab Airways aircraft
aquired by Aviron in mid 1947.
This aircraft was damaged in an Egyptian air attack at Sde Dov on 15 May
1948. Sde Dov was the first airbase used by the newly formed Cheyl Ha'Avir
during the War of Independence in 1948.
