IAI Kfir C1
Kfir (Lion Cub)
144 Squadron
The C1 Fence Kfir is an improved Nesher based
on suggestions by the IAF. It was first shown to the public in June of
1975, at Hatzerim. Later, narrow-span canards (fences) were affixed to
the sides of the air intakes to enhance maneuverability.
|

The Kfir's airframe design is similar to the Mirage V, but with many improvements.
It also has a U.S. made GE J-79 engine and Israeli avionics. Only 27 Kfir
C1s were built.
