Lajos Kossuth Statue
Kossuth was the father of the 1848-1849 War of Independence. He became Minister of Finance and later elected President of the transitional government. Unfortunately Russian Tzarist forces, who intervened on behalf of Habsburg Emperor, defeated the Hungarian Revolutionary forces, and Kossuth was forced to resign and go into exile.
