M48A3 Patton Tank

The Patton tank was purchased by the IDF during the mid-1960s. They took part in the Six Day War (1967) in the northern Sinai and Refidim, and even reached the Suez Canal. Later, they were upgraded by the IDF's Ordinance Corps.

M48A3 Patton Medium Tank
The M48 had many improvements over the M47 including wider tracks, quick change gun barrel, an optical rangefinder, and improved armor. Its major fault was the gasoline engine which gave abysmal range. The hull is cast and boat shaped.
