M4A4 Sherman Tank Crab Mk II
Sherman tanks with this British mine clearing system
served the IDF during the 1950s. The system included 43 heavy flails
connected to a drum. As the drum rotated, the chains hit the ground
in front of the tank and exploded any mines. The Mark II had a contouring
device to improve results when used on rough ground.
